February is just about over! Where does the time go? I want apologize for not having a super cute Valentine's Day post. I thought I had an idea but really I had a bunch of small ideas so it never came together properly. But I'm back and I thought I would share some of my favorite products, food, music, etc. from the past month.  ~First, I'll start with one of the best smelling lotions out there- Beautiful Day from Bath and Body Works. The scent is described as "a lively blend of sun kissed apple, sparkling cassis and wild daisies brightened by fresh pink peony and creamy musk," on the back of the bottle. My question is, who's job is it to describe these smells?! Seems like a difficult task.  ~I've been wearing this 'Rapid Ruby' red color from Rimmel most of the month now. I actually bought this back in Prague but it's been my go to February color! I'm trying to hang on to those winter vibes with the deep red color, it's alw...

At last, the oldest building on campus has been restored. With a new wraparound deck, the view from old main is pretty priceless. It's amazing to think that this building is still here considering it began construction in 1887. According to Wikipedia, "Old Main is one of the oldest surviving educational structures in the western United States." No wonder it needed some restoration! But I think everyone agrees that the place looks great, the grounds are clean, and the fountain is flowing beautifully! I thought my Tilly hat and cactus button up captured the pioneer spirit that was around during the building of Old Main. Of course, the jumpsuit is just a more modern twist.  It's good to have you back Old Main! 

One of my general education classes I'm taking this semester is called Light, Color, & Vision- an optical sciences course. This is one of the better science classes I've taken in a really long time and we have only just started with our first topic on light! Every two weeks or so, my teacher gives us one word that we have to journal about. There are no limits to what you can write about which is really cool in my opinion and something you wouldn't expect to be doing in a science class. Being the blogger that I am, I knew that I would have to try to make a blog post also relating to the word that I would have to write about out. Luminous is actually the second word in the journal assignment (I'm still working on photos for the first). The word luminous has a really mysterious but magical sound to it. Friday is here which means the first week of second semester (for most students) is officially over. Technically this isn't my first whole week because we started on a Wednesday but that's besides the point. Since school has finally started, I wanted to share my school essentials for the new semester along with some Arizona specific essentials.  1. Pencils and Pens I had to start with the basics- pencils and pens. The pens are the brand Uni-ball and are nice and smooth but will bleed through notebook paper. And those are just some normal 'Zebra' brand mechanical pencils. 2.Colorful Highlighters All my old highlighters were fading fast so I had to pick up some new ones! Bright and colorful, they will definitely help my notes stand out while studying.  3.Journals and Planners Obviously, the best place to take all your notes is in notebook journals! And then my other favorite school item are planners. Nothing is better than being organized. ...

One of my New Year resolutions was to try to be more stylish , more often! I already love dressing up (considering the blog) and I really wanted to try to dress up even more often while I was at school. I've learned over the years that I really can wear whatever I want because no one cares. If I get weird stares, whatever. If I get compliments, I'll smile and say thanks! It's just so important to express yourself, and dressing up is my favorite way to do so. Everyone can be stylish! My quick tips for adding a little more glam to your daily outfits- 1)  Add some Statement Jewelry  like I did above. I layered three different length necklaces with the red one bringing out the red in my Iron Man t-shirt.  2)  Throw on a Denim or Leather Jacket . Wearing an oversized sweater could work too but this contrasting denim adds more edginess to your outfit.  3)  Apply a Bold Lip Color . I'm not wearing any lip color above but a simple red s...

"Baby It’s Cold Outside" 5 degrees to be exact. Welcome to Illinois! A lot of people in the Chicago-land area complain about the weather, especially during the winter. When your winter is half the year,it makes sense that the cold gets old after a while. Battling the winter takes courage, a coat, and some clever indoor ideas to stay sane/occupied/active/productive/warm.  First, start with a warm cup of tea. Then, find a good book (such as  these ) and a warm blanket and read away! Nothing is better for the brain then literature which is why I don't recommend watching too many movies. Find a book topic that interests you, something like cooking or crafting, and learn a new skill. Of course, if you're in school you could always get ahead on your schoolwork...but anyway, if all else fails turn to Pinterest! Endless amounts of ideas to stay busy during the long winter months.
