Forms of Art

Image
Art is pretty neat but street art is even neater. Mainly because of how surprising street is since you never really know when you're going to stumble across it. Then there's the use of bold colors and line to make you stare harder at the artwork followed by their usual larger than average size. It's one astonishing package that could be right around the corner from you. Like this piece above that I just happened to find driving through town one day. It stops everyone! Right before these photos were taken, a women pulled over in her car to snap a photo of this larger than life mural. The colors in this piece are so bright and vivid that I wanted to experiment with brighter makeup for the canvas that is my face. Starting with my bold lip color in  Shocking Coral from the Maybelline Vivids Collections (buy here ). The colors in this collection are gorgeous, however they aren't the smoothest lip product out there and I find i...

Which Way to Coachella?

Image
Oh hello there. So I was going to start off by saying that music festival season has finished up but I really have no idea if that's true at all. I'm making assumptions since Coachella has come and gone, and that seems to really be the most popular one, or least on the west coast it is. Again, I could be totally wrong about everything. Summer concerts though have definitely not ended though, and so maybe festival season hasn't either! Even though I'm from Chicago which has the increasingly popular Lollapalooza, I've never been and wouldn't think to categorize that in the same boat as Coachella. Anyway, Lollapalooza isn't until late July, so clearly the summer music fun is still going strong. Funny story actually: when I was younger, my family and I were downtown in the city being tourists  (what else) and we were walking by Grant Park during the festival when we saw some protesters ...

I Don't Think We're in Paris Anymore

Image
Oh Paris. How I miss your atmosphere, your beauty, and your grace. A dull moment never exists in the City of Lights. From my first trip over spring break back in 2012 with my high school french class to celebrating a Parisian Thanksgiving with my Mom in 2014, it's all been nothing but happy memories. Speaking of mothers, Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there. Especially to mine for allowing me to go to Paris twice  before the age of 20. Wouldn't have been able to make my dreams come true without you. Remember the whole world is thanking you on this day, and we are all eternally grateful for what you provide to us. Thank you Mom!
