Life in Style

And so begins the second week of my senior year of college. Yep, you heard me right. Senior year . I made it to the last lap and it's a little surreal. I went into a little bit of a panic right before school started, you know the usual 'what am I doing with my life?' and 'I'm not ready to be an adult' sort of thing. Since I still felt confused and nervous like I have been for the past 3 years, I decided I had to make a change. Next thing I knew I walked into a hair salon and dyed my hair the darkest it's ever been. Ever. Never have I not been primarily blonde in the 20 years I've had hair (I was bald for like a year, deal with it). So I would say this was a pretty big change. I am honestly so happy with how it turned out. I loved my blonde hair but something about the darker hue changes my dynamic and makes me more excited for what's to come. Some people may think a small physical change can't make a difference but...

Today I handed in the keys to my junior year apartment.  I wanted to capture the view on the roof one more time before I parted ways, and I'm sure you'll all see why it's just that much harder to say goodbye. But change is good and I'm super excited about my new place, my new roommate and going into my senior year of college on a high note! Nothing beats that view though. Tomorrow may be my 21st birthday but today is also special. Today marks the third anniversary of Life in Style! I've successfully been posting photos for three years and that's a huge accomplishment for me. It doesn't matter that I had inconsistent periods where I didn't post for months, what matters is that I kept trying. My wardrobe has changed a lot over the past couple of years but so has my hair and even my makeup abilities. My favorite part about blogging is watching the transformation of not only my physical appearance but my self-confidence too. Life in Style has become the other half of me, and I'm so happy I haven't given up on it! Art is pretty neat but street art is even neater. Mainly because of how surprising street is since you never really know when you're going to stumble across it. Then there's the use of bold colors and line to make you stare harder at the artwork followed by their usual larger than average size. It's one astonishing package that could be right around the corner from you. Like this piece above that I just happened to find driving through town one day. It stops everyone! Right before these photos were taken, a women pulled over in her car to snap a photo of this larger than life mural. The colors in this piece are so bright and vivid that I wanted to experiment with brighter makeup for the canvas that is my face.
