Pool Day

Now this is what summer should be. Rooftop pools and pale stomachs. Ok, maybe not the pale stomach part but hey, I haven't spent this much time in the sun in like ever. Since the start of summer, a mere one week ago, I've woken up in a such a good mood! The stress of school is over, and three months of self-loving has officially begun. This is my first summer staying in Arizona and I'm excited to hang out with friends, soak up the sun, and do a little exploring in this cool little city. A lot of students cannot wait to rush back home once finals all over but Tucson is becoming my home and I want to see what its summers have to offer. 

Summer has got me in the mood for bright colors! I had no idea that I owned so many summer makeup essentials in all the perfect shades. Starting with three Ciaté mini nail polish pots in the colors Life’s A Peach, Raspberry Collins, and Ahoy Sailor-the names are as perfect as the colors in the bottle and I’m naming them the colors of summer! I’ve also been obsessing over my Smashbox Shades of Fame Palette. This is actually a rather old palette but there are so many similar ones out there, you just have to find ones with a bright orange and a bright blue and I’d say your set! Don’t be scared of bright eye shadow either, it’s summer! Have a little fun, and blending in a bright color on the outside corner of your eye with a darker more neutral color is the perfect way to add a subtle pop. I found this L-Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick in the perfect light orange color and c’mon ‘Peach Fuzz’, how could I not buy it? Finally, the most important makeup you need is sunscreen! The Physician’s Formula Healthy Wear Tinted Moisturizer is SPF 50, and even helps give me a little more color since I don’t plan on ever tanning my face…that’s a no no. Physician’s Formula also has a bronzer with SPF in it, so that’s another great option for your poolside makeup routine.

Summer is full of what ifs, maybes, and wonder. Don’t be afraid to take that roadtrip with your friend, or add a little blue to your normal everyday eyeshadow (what are cute sunglasses for?). If you’re anything like me summers are a struggle. But when you surround yourself with people that love you, and really delve into a secret passion of yours, summer will treat you right. Oh, and actually go swimming, summer is all about the pool!
