Lights Out

Image
Last weekend I was at my cousin's for a sleepover when the power went out. Now you may think our night was ruined but that would not be the case. One of my cousins pulls out her DSLR and starts taking pictures in the dark! So having a blog and all I offer to be the model. And voila! Pictures taken in the dark with flashlights and slow shutter speeds. Instant blog photos I would say.  As for the outfit, I couldn't have felt cooler in my faux leather high-waisted shorts and my union jack muscle tee. I also managed to layer some gold necklaces on top! Needless to say, I had a great last get together with my cousins before I head off to college. I love you girls! <3  Clothing from- Forever 21, and H&M

Summer Picnic

Image
Had a picnic today in the 90 degree heat.  It really wasn't too unbearable in the shade but going back to an air conditioned house sure did feel nice.  Wore my nice loose graphic top with some light washed jeans and finished the look with my red and blue Toms! I thought this was a very nice summer outfit for today. What do you wear on hot days? How do you escape the heat? Let me know in the comments below.  Practiced my levitating. I encourage some of you to have a picnic with your friends! It's a lot of fun!  Clothing from- Forever 21, & Target

Montréal

Image
Today was our first day walking around the city of Montréal. There aren't too many specific sights to see in Montréal so we had a little trouble at first figuring out where we wanted to go. It's really just a large city with a lot of languages so it's kind of neat and definitely a cool city to walk around it. We did get to tour the Montréal Canadians ice arena which was very neat. Felt a little out of place being a Blackhawks fan though.  For my city look of the day I chose my light weight, hi-low, zebra print dress with a sleeveless chambray shirt belted over it. As for the hat, I was in desperate need of something to block the sun so at a local boutique I bought a Tilly hat! An expensive hat that is said to block almost all the sun's rays, and last you a very long time, so we will see!   Clothing from- Forever 21, H&M & Nordstrom

Québec City

Image
Bonjour from Québec! I have only been here for two days but I already am in love. Not only do the people speak French-the language I am trying to learn- but the old buildings mixed with the city atmosphere makes it a great place to be. You may think it would feel like going to France but it doesn't, it feels like Québec, unique and all its own.   As for vacation outfits I still need a lot of practice at being creative while on the go and living out of a suitcase. So the outfits below aren't terribly creative, I tried to focus on at least one interesting piece. But I wanted to post while I was in Canada because I can have some interesting backdrops!  At a park in Québec City, where there are no cacti except for my shirt.  Riding the ferry back to our place in Lévis Stacked jewels in front of Montmorency Falls Walking down over 400 stairs from the stop of the falls. The journey doesn't end here... Clothes from- H&M, Ta

Happy Fourth of July!

Image
Happy birthday America! 237 years old and still young! Today's red, white, and blue outfit consists of a navy blue t-shirt (I promise it's not black) and some brick red star-printed shorts. For accessories I chose a white watch, white converse, and topped it off with gold star earrings! And I couldn't forgot a red, white, and blue manicure to really finish off this festive look.  As you celebrate this fourth of July, I hope you take some time to think about what it really means to be an American. Instead of focusing solely on the negatives that are exploited through the media, think about all the positives! The freedom, the beauty of the land from 'sea to shining sea', and the wealth that every single one of us contains (not just in dollar amounts) . So look out your window today, or tomorrow, or every day, and appreciate all that is the United States of America. Clothing from- H&M, & Target
