Into the Garden

Image
One of my friends not only has this gorgeous backyard garden but she's also really good at taking pictures so obviously I had to have her snap some photos for the blog. My crochet top from Urban Outfitters has been around for awhile but this is its first appearance on the blog, so it's pretty excited. The shorts were literally bought the same day as the photos were taken, and by chance ended up working really well with the top. Like magic, a new outfit was born.   It's too easy to forget about the little but beautiful things that surround us everyday, so now I ask what's your secret garden?

A Day in the City

Image
Sunday, my friend and I decided to take the train downtown and walk around Chicago for a few hours. The city was amazing as always and never fails to impress. I've got a major crush on this city and I re-fall in love every time I go. We got luck with the weather, not too hot, not too cool. So my black and white outfit kept me cool and comfortable all day. What's a black and white outfit without red accessories? Not complete, that's what.  ~Thank you for Chicago for always putting a smile on my face~

Inside on a Rainy Day

Image
Last Saturday, I took a quick visit up to my grandparents old house that's soon to become my Aunt's new house. I wanted to take pictures outside by the barn but before I got the chance it began to downpour. So I improvised and chose one of the many rooms to photograph in, and it worked. Couldn't waste a perfectly good outfit, now could I? I love wearing black and military green together, it's one of my favorite color combinations that works with my skin tone and hair so well. You can't tell in the photo but the skirt is half sheer. There is actually a shorter 'liner' skirt and then the rest of sheer fabric flows down to just below my knees. It's one of my new favorites. On top of that I added one of my newest additions to the statement necklace family so say hello!

Summer Update

Image
Long time no post! I'm pretty sure I promised a post back in April and its what now, the end of June! Oops! I apologize but hey, life happens. Any who, I'm back and I'm starting the summer with a quick update.  What have I been up too now? Well I finished my first year at college!  Flew home to spend the summer with my family, and began working as a camp counselor. I  caught up with the Chicago must-haves soon after I arrived. Of course, May in Chicago still requires pants and a jacket. Did I mention it snowed the morning I got home?  Found some random quotes. Ate some deep dish pizza. Took some selfies as I reunited with my car. Caught a nice sunset. Redid the hair with some hi-lights, lo-lights, and do I see red underneath? Visited the city! Up to the Skydeck at the Willis tower and got the best view you could ask for. Ate some macaroons at the French Markets under the train station.
