End of a Saga

Image
On June 28th, 2015, I started a fantasy series called The Mortal Instruments. Little did I know that 2 years and one month later, I would finally finish that 6 book saga. Dedication at its finest. Now, this was obviously drawn out because I'm not a super consistent reader throughout all 12 months of the year. While I was in school, I only ever read during the summer and over winter breaks. Nonetheless, I finished and now I can move on the my next series ... GAME OF THRONES. If The Mortal Instruments took me two years to complete than I anticipate I'll finish GOT in about...10 years. Not too bad right? Anyway, if you love fantasy (Young Adult fantasy in particular) I recommend you give at least the first book a try. What else do you have to lose? I'm not a professional book reviewer but I can tell you it combines action, humor, a lil young adult romance, and present day issues all in one werewolf/fairy/vampire/shadowhunter world. Doesn't that get you hooked?

Hello : August

Bonjour Août! ( Hello August en français ) . I thought today would be a great day to start a new phase of my blog. A transition from fashion to lifestyle. Sounds boring, I know. Until I can find someone to take photos of me, I'm going to have to take them myself. Which is A-OK, because there are a lot of random topics I would love to talk about on here! Things like music, food, beauty, mental health, etc. etc.  _____________________________ I will begin this new phase with a list of August Intentions! Inspired by an Instagram post. 1. Meditate more frequently (because girl you know it helps) 2. Get outside a few minutes everyday (weather permitting) 3. Eat yo greens 4. Be grateful, everyday 5. SMILE, at everyone. And say hi sometimes :)  _________________________ And finally, a quote for the new month: New Month, New Beginning, New Mindset, New Focus, New Start, New Intentions, New Results. - Words of wisdom my lovely, and newl

San Diego Vibes

Image
For my last one week Spring Break vacation ever , my family and I traveled to San Diego, California. I've been to San Diego before when I had short, curly/frizzy hair, and better yet, braces...Take a second, imagine that image for your own pleasure, and then throw it away forever. You done? Ok good, let's move on.This time around I was a 21 year old college student, and wayyyy hotter so I had a lot more fun :). Two times around makes me feel like I've seen all of San Diego (JK not really, I'm buying a condo when I become a millionaire).  Since I have already witnessed the hilly fortress that is the San Diego Zoo, I had no interest to go again this Spring Break. Instead, my Mom and I ended up right across the street in Balboa Park! The land of museums and gorgeous architecture. It was like walking into a world that fused Morocco, Germany, Hawaii, and Greece into the same space. Incredible. I dressed up this particular day in a fun wid

Wannabe LA

Yep, I am still here. Remember that time when it was the first week of my senior year in college? Well now I'm three weeks away from the end of first semester. Oops. Talk about time flying when... you're stressed out of your mind with 5 classes and constant job applications and trying to find yourself and being a good 21 year old. Like I'm tired just writing that all out. Yet I have returned to the place I love, standing in front of a camera. Something about dressing up and snapping some photos just brings me back to why I did this in the first place. To capture my growth and change over the years. To marvel at the array of clothes that have come in and out of my closet. To document the places I've visited, lived in, and fell in love with. That is why I blog. Now finding a photographer and being comfortable in my own skin  is a whole other ball game but I can't forget why I do it. And why I think if I wa

Surprise! I'm a Senior.

And so begins the second week of my senior year of college. Yep, you heard me right. Senior year . I made it to the last lap and it's a little surreal. I went into a little bit of a panic right before school started, you know the usual 'what am I doing with my life?' and 'I'm not ready to be an adult' sort of thing. Since I still felt confused and nervous like I have been for the past 3 years, I decided I had to make a change. Next thing I knew I walked into a hair salon and dyed my hair the darkest it's ever been. Ever. Never have I not been primarily blonde in the 20 years I've had hair (I was bald for like a year, deal with it). So I would say this was a pretty big change. I am honestly so happy with how it turned out. I loved my blonde hair but something about the darker hue changes my dynamic and makes me more excited for what's to come. Some people may think a small physical change can't make a difference but

Today I handed in the keys to my junior year apartment.  I wanted to capture the view on the roof one more time before I parted ways, and I'm sure you'll all see why it's just that much harder to say goodbye. But change is good and I'm super excited about my new place, my new roommate and going into my senior year of college on a high note! Nothing beats that view though. Hope everyone enjoys the last few days we have left in July! Next stop for me..Vancouver :) ♡Addison
