Prague and Paris

Image
I wanted to share some photos from my last couple weeks in Prague and one weekend in Paris. Sometimes I try to act like a photographer and with some cropping and editing I actually catch some pretty good looking pics (at least I think they are).  I only have five days left here in Prague so I'm really hoping to get some last minute pictures that will capture the memories of this beautiful city. Now if only the skies would clear up to make that possible... Strahov Monastery, Prague Strahov Monastery, Prague Hradcany Building, Prague Gingerbread Castle, Prague Hunger Wall, Prague TV Tower, Prague Street Artist, Montmartre Paris Sacre Coeur, Paris Jardin des Tuileries, Paris View From a Ferris Wheel, Paris Chez Eugene, Montmartre Paris Disneyland Paris Old Town Square, Prague Charles Bridge, Prague Charles Bridge, Prague Kampa Island, Prague Courtyard, Prague It's going to be weird not c...

My Return in a Skirt with Sushi

Drumroll please....I'm alive! It's been just about two months since my last blog post and I apologize deeply for that long absence. A part of my time away was excused due to a sprained ankle injury that left me on my couch for three weeks straight. Once I was able to start walking again my traveling adventures started up! Beginning the weekend of Halloween until last weekend (Nov 29th), I went to Italy, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Ireland, and France! As much as I would have loved to blog in every single one of those places, it's a bit tricky when you wear the same three things on every excursion. All in good time and with a little more practice I'll be blogging everywhere!  Now, I'm back in Prague for only 9 more days so I'm trying my best to soak up the city as much as possible. It's chilly and gloomy here which as also made going outside and taking photos a little hard, so I'm working on some alternative options!  This blog post is...

The Royal Jewels

Image
Prague once held the precious jewels of Bohemia. The kings and queens of that time knew how to accessorize, and I like to think I got my skills from them.  One of the most important accessories for me here in Prague has been my four statement necklaces. When you bring wardrobe full of black and white t-shirts, you need to find some way to jazz it up, otherwise you'll grow very bored. All of the necklaces below will probably show up multiple times throughout my Prague posts but it will be interesting to see the different looks for each necklace.  I learned a new term to describe gold, oxidized. It works perfect because compared to my other gold necklaces this one is much duller but in a hard metallic kind of way.  >H&M< My red triangle necklace is one of the first statement necklaces I bought, and it's come a long way! It came apart a couple of times, but popped back together no problem. Phew.  >Forever 21< Th...

Living In Prague: Gardens, Parks, and Chocolate

Image
My study abroad journey here in Prague as already reached its 5th week! My time here continues to improve each week as I discover something new not only about the city but myself. Here's a quick recap of some of the places I've seen: Every castle must have it's gardens, and the "Gardens Below the Castle" do just the job. Full of a unique arrangement of flowers, stone staircases, and wooden arches. It's a unique and quiet place to escape from the mass of tourists walking throughout the castle grounds.  I escorted one of my roommates on a mini adventure to retrieve a package from DHL. After a few metro stops and a twenty minute bus ride later, we were dropped off on the side of the highway out in the middle of farm country. To our right was the DHL warehouse where we walked in and picked up here package. Simple as that.  Three of my roommates and I went to a local wine festival. My lesson of the day was learning about Burcak. A young wine o...

My Own Summer Palace

Image
Prague Highlight #132: The Summer Palace at Prague Castle.  A unique Renaissance building in the middle of a luscious, green park surrounded by picturesque gardens, with a spectacular view of St. Vitus Cathedral. What a perfect place to strut around and look fierce.   Above I've created my own short suit with a basic blazer, some plain black shorts, and a loose fitted cotton tee. Black and white may be a classic combination but it's really never complete without some red accents. I couldn't settle for just the geometric necklace, so I applied some red lipstick to spice it up, and added one of my favorite pair of gem earrings.   Blazers are in my top-rated pieces of clothing because of it's high versatility rate. Of course they are perfect for business interviews when you wear a collared shirt underneath plus pants, or tights and a skirt with simple flats or modest heels. But outside of interviews you can wear them with everything else! Dresses, jeans...
